Description

Electronic tacheometer (electronic theodolite with built-in electronic distance meter). Accuracy: horizontal directions ±2", zenith angles ±3", slope distance ±(5 mm + 5 ppm). This instrument type was the first fully electronic tacheometer produced by Topcon. It includes a tribrach and a battery that sits on top of the standards. Measurements can be triggered without touching the instruments (use of light barriers). Weight with battery: 8.3 kg.

History & comments

This instrument was purchased by UNSW second-hand from the (NSW) Department of Main Roads in 1994.

Conservation

In yellow transport box ( 530 x 370 x 240 mm).

Condition

A lot of scratches on paint. The instrument exhibits intermittent problems (of low supply voltage) and is, thus, not fully operational.

Remarks

Carries the labels 'DMR-72', UNSW 'No. 2'.
