Description |
Wooden tripod with retractable legs, featuring the KERN titlting plate on top with two embedded plate levels and a gimballed ('ball and socket') joint with three locking screws. Tilting in all directions is possible. Before use, a KERN centring plate (with the KERN centring system on top) must be screwed on. See Traversing Targets (0241 and 0242). The attachment screw has a diameter of about 16 mm. Centring is by optical plummet (in target or theodolite) or by plumbob (if a suitable attachment is provided with the traversing targets, e.g. see 0243). The tripod was available in two sizes ('small' and 'medium'). This type of tripod was still advertised in 1965 for the theodolite DK1 (as No. 181 B). |

The wood is heavily worn. One corner of the aluminium cap is brocken off. The stop of one leg is missing (which means that the lower part of the leg can fall out if fully extended). |
