2 Diagonal Eyepieces for Wild T2

Description

The two diagonal eyepieces shown above are required for steep sights or sights to the zenith (such as, for example, in field astronomy, tunnelling and mining), when the horizontal plate obstructs access to the telescope and circle-reading eyepieces. One of the eyepieces is attached to the telescope and the other is attached to the reading microscope of the Wild T2 theodolite. They deflect the line of sight through 90°, so that the observer views the images from the top or side of the telescope.

When changing from one telescope position to the other, they can be reversed. The regular eyepieces of the telescope and micrometer are unscrewed and replaced with these diagonal attachments.

History & comments

When the regular telescope eyepiece is replaced, the zero mark of its diopter scale has to be put on the index mark at the beginning of the threading. Otherwise, the observer may get a false start with the double thread and will not have the original diopter reading of the eyepiece scale.
