Description

The PLANIX 3 is a linear type digital planimeter (with adjustable tracer arm) used to measure areas on plans by mechanical integration. Areas of 360 mm width and unlimited length can be measured by tracing the circumference. The readout is electronic. The least count of the display is 0.1 square centimetres (at 1:1 scale). The accuracy is better than 0.2% of the area measured. An AD?DC converter (240V AC, 4.5 V DC, 200 mA) is included. Weight 1.3 kg.

The box contains a 61 mm diameter metal disk with 3 pins that can be used for calibration purposes. (The disk is labelled 54.0 square centimetres) Since the footprint of the tracer (magnifying glass) has a diameter of 22 mm, moving the tracer around the rim of the metal disk should produce the nominal 54.0 square centimetres.
