Description |
This Omega Time Recorder is a device for measuring and printing time to an accuracy of 1/100th of a second. The instrument features a paper-roll system for the printing of time and two switch buttons and two plugs for external connections to other devices like the Wild T4 astronomical theodolite. This instrument is basically an electronic chronograph fitted with a printing system and controlled by a quartz crystal. It records starting, finishing and intermediate times on a strip of paper printed in hours, minutes, seconds, tenth of a second and hundredth of second. It's main application was for astronomical longitude determination in geodesy which required very precise timing.
