Description

This DISTO is the fifth DISTO model. The first Leica DISTO ( in 1994) was the first handheld electronic distance meter using a visible (red) laser diode (620-690 nm, 0.95 mW). The device revolutionised the measurement of (mainly) indoor spaces, e.g. length, width and height of rooms. Since the laser is visible, the target point is visible (class 2 laser). Onboard routines allow the calculation of areas and volumes. The distance measurements can be referenced to the front or the back of the device. Special versions allow the transfer of data to computers as well as the operation from a computer.

Accuracy (2 sigma): typically ±3 mm

Range: 0.2 - 200 m

Red laser dot: 6 mm at 10 m, 60 mm at 100 m

Batteries: 2 x AA 1.5 V

Least count of display: 1 mm
